Description: The GRC-26C is a medium-power, shelter-mounted, radio teletypewriter station designed for use in mobile, fixed, or semi fixed application. In addition to the RATT operation, it is also capable of AM voice and CW communications.

The Radio Set AN/GRC-26 is a transportable assembly of equipment providing facilities for transmission and reception of radioteletype signals on an FS (frequency-shift) basis over a frequency range of 2 to 18 MHz, crystal-selected channels. Maximum power output is approximately 400 watts.

The AN/MRC-2 series is believed to to be the first mobile RATT system and is described in TM 11-264. Documents show it was probably developed around 1947 and was an offshoot of the SCR-399 as was the AN/GRC-26.
