New Gotoh locking saddles - The Gear Page
Sep 19, 2023 · Gotoh is introducing locking saddles for their bridges. I found out this morning when Y.O.S. guitars posted about receiving early samples. They are announced on their website but apparently not yet available for purchase. Looks like they have three SKUs to …
Gotoh tuners: 510 vs 'standard' series - The Gear Page
Jan 24, 2013 · I really like the standard Gotoh tuners on my other guitar. More so than the Grovers and Schallers I have on other guitars, although I have to mention that these are both a bit older. Nevertheless, the Gotohs are light, tight and precise, so I want Gotoh tuners for my SG as well. Now, there are two choices for Gotoh tuners:
Original Floyd Rose vs Gotoh Locking Trem | The Gear Page
Aug 20, 2017 · The Gotoh has a much better arm attachment (push in, adjustable tension, no slop), locking studs, brass block with lock screws for the springs, and an overall better feel (IMO). They're also about half the price of an OFR. You can replace the Gotoh blocks with a bigger one but be sure it's made for it. Plenty on Ebay last I looked.
The Gotoh GE1996T is just a hair more expensive than the Floyd …
Jan 15, 2023 · The Gotoh tremolo requires no routing to be mounted. Think of the Gotoh as a Floyd Rose but without all the thick saddles or thick tremolo plate. It has the string locks in the backside or end of the saddles and they have the fine tuner with the screw and spring assembly as the original Floyd Rose tremolos do.
Floyd Rose vs.Gotoh custom 510 - The Gear Page
May 11, 2021 · The Gotoh 510 is a non-locking trem. It's a good two point trem. Generally speaking, a double locking trem is going to be more tuning stable in general and especially with heavy use.
Gotoh Magnum Lock tuners opinions - The Gear Page
Jan 7, 2017 · I am opinions for locking tuner replacement for vintage Klusons- 3x3 Les Paul and/or vintage style Strat and Tele. Gotoh makes the vintage Kluson style Magnum Lock (MG) models SD90, SD91, SD510, SDS510 and the same models in Magnum Lock Thumbscrew (MG-T) which is a vintage Kluson replacement...
Are Wilkinson's tuners as good as Grover or Gotoh?
Apr 9, 2016 · I think (not at all sure) that Wilkinson is a 'license', rather than a manufacturer. My latest set of Wilkinson tuners have slop and backlash exceeding the stock tuners on my most recent SX guitar. I'm sure a Gotoh manufactured Wilkinson product would be fine, but there are lots of super-cheap Wilkinson parts out there these days.
Gotoh Vs. Babicz vs. ? Best floating trem - The Gear Page
Apr 1, 2020 · Ahh. Nice with the Gotoh/Wilkinson input. I just checked that out online and saw the video with the man himself.... So yeah its retrofitted into any bridge you want practically. And good cause I hate fine tuners and locking nuts!!!!. Gotoh 510 with Wilkinson saddles..Interesting and something to consider.
Gotoh GE1996T vs Original Floyd Rose - The Gear Page
Sep 21, 2022 · I was playing a guitar with a Gotoh GE1996T tremolo, and it's pretty nice, but I noticed that the tremolo arm seems higher from the tremolo itself and the guitar body then an Original Floyd Rose, which kinda bothered me, because I'm used to the Original Floyd Rose height. Two questions: 1) Can...

Oct 14, 2021 · The Gotoh split shafts are the best I have used. One broke on my Grosh a while back, and had to get a new set. For reference, this is what the aged version looks like, next to the shiny polished variety:
