Jul 12, 2021 · From what I can tell, it seems like the issue is the rear main seal, and it seems fairly common for them to go around 100k. I have been in contact with a local dealer and got a quote of $1,944.16 (+tax) to replace the rear main seal and oil separator.

Dec 25, 2018 · I also decided to get the newest rev G oem rear main seal which seals inwards towards the crank case instead of out. You have to be very careful when installing this seal so it seated properly.

Jun 8, 2013 · There is, as far as I know, no existing DIY for this install. So for those of you that have looked into this mod, don't be afraid to do it. This kit is the same for either the MK6 Golf R, GTI or GLI Jetta. I believe it will work on the MK5 series of vehicles that have the same basic rear suspension as well but I'm not sure about that.

For street/track use, providing low noise, little dust, high braking power and friction both at low and high temperatures.
