Virtual Console on Wii U is a great option and probably easiest. But you can also check Ebay or a local store that deals in vintage games for a physical copy of the game and hardware on which to play it. GBA SP or a DS for handheld, or a Gamecube with a GameBoy Player for a larger screen.

I have to recommend people avoid the DS title like the plague though. It's horrible, they went overboard with the text and it feels like there's more talking than gameplay sometimes. Plus the characters are awful.
