Devol (also spelled as Dewol) is a deity subjected to worship and belief in Sri Lanka. He is one of the twelve deities worshiped in Sri Lanka as "Dolos Deviyo" (twelve gods), who are believed to be intervening in the affairs of the worldlings. [1]

Devol was so angry he killed the child. However the people heard about his gifts and skill in the use of mantra and sorcery and started to revere him and treat him as a Deity. They renamed him Devol-deviyo. When he died a shrine was built on the spot where he had lived and supplicants regularly brought offerings to this shrine.
