I have had this awful cough since Nov 2022. I have checked my CT Scans from previous years. Ground glass opacities was never mentioned.

Aug 22, 2023 · @artist01 Are you sure they didn't say "ground glass opacities" - this is a typical finding on a lung x-ray during or after pneumonia or another lung infection. It simpply describes a gray area in the lung where "artifacts" of the infecton remain.

Their appearance tells the radiologist that something nasty is happening in the lungs but ground glass by itself cannot identify a specific disease.

Dec 10, 2018 · I was pretty scared when I was told that I had a GGO show up. I thought that maybe something sharp was causing the CT to look like that. I am a lung cancer survivor of 22+ years and most of my nodules show as ground glass. I don't know if you were shown the CT scan itself but when you look at the nodules they actually look like ground glass.
