It is with deep regret we inform you that a senior Member of the Penang Bar, Dato’ Ghazi Ishak of Messrs Ghazi & Lim passed away in the early hours of today at the age of 78.

Dato's Ghazi was called to the English Bar in 1971 and joined the Malaysian Government Legal Service upon his return in 1971. He was posted as a Magistrate in Kuala Lumpur and later as Acting President of Sessions Court in Malacca and Kuala Kubu Bahru.

In 1975, Datin Roquaiya Hanim moved to Penang with her husband, Dato’ Ghazi Ishak, whom was appointed to be the Deputy Public Prosecutor in Penang at the time. She joined Presgrave & Matthews and later became a partner in the said firm from 1980 until 1992.
