The Formula Gran Turismo World Championship (named as the Formula GT World Championship in international versions) is a 15-part championship in Gran Turismo 4 located in the Extreme Hall. It is the longest championship in the game.

In GT4, the car's engine sound is shared with the Toyota GT-One (TS020) '99 and the Sauber Mercedes C9 '89, albeit with a higher pitch. From GTPSP to GT6, however, it has a new engine sound, more similar to an F1 car.

It is the longest race series in Gran Turismo 4. The Formula Gran Turismo is designed to emulate Formula 1-style racing, with each race averaging just over 300 km. All cars in the race series are Polyphony Formula Gran Turismo race cars, an imitation of Formula 1 race cars.
