GP30's were never too common on the Boston & Albany, and most of the time they were stuck in the middle of the lash up, as is CR 2188 on BOSE (Boston, MA - Selkirk, NY) at Hinsdale, MA.. CR 2188 was the first GP30 in the Penn Central series.

Built by EMD in 1963 for the Pennsylvania RR, this loco was one of the last to be repainted in Conrail blue by former PRR employees at the Juniata Shops. The EMD GP30 is a 2,250 hp (1,680 kW) four-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division of La Grange, Illinois between July 1961 and November 1963. [2] A total of 948 units were built for railroads in the United States and Canada (2 only), including 40 cabless B units for the Union Pacific Railroad .
