The GE U30C is a six-axle locomotive built by General Electric from 1966 to 1976. With 600 units sold, the U30C proved to be a viable alternative for customers who were unable to purchase SD40s from Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD) due to production backlog.

GE used a common body for the various U-boats, so this list is based on phases of the U30B. All Phase I were built with oil bath air filters. Phase II with the forward radiator intake mounted high had oil bath filters; low-mounted intake was for paper air filters.

The GE U33C is a 6-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by GE Transportation Systems between January 1968 and January 1975. [1] 375 examples of this locomotive were built for 11 North American railroads and one construction contractor.

Most, if not all, of the U30Cs were retrofitted with Gyralites by the D&H. The electrical prints for the U30Cs were modified with the Gyralite in 1971, and the modifications were carried out on through late 1974 and early 1975. Since the U30Cs were ready for major overhauls during this period, they received the lights. All went to NdeM in 1978.
