The C30-7 is a 6-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by GE Transportation Systems between September 1976 and May 1986 as an updated U30C with a 16-cylinder 3,000 horsepower (2,200 kW) FDL-series diesel engine. 1,137 were built for North American railroads.

The C30-7 is one of General Electric's second-generation diesels and was introduced in September 1976. It superseded the U30C, U33C, and U36C. A standard C30-7 is a 3,000 horsepower, 16-cylinder, six-axle locomotive. Conrail purchased 10 of these units (CR 6600-6609) in 1977, their first new six-axle power since becoming a railroad.

The GE (General Electric) C30-7 (or simply "Dash 7") is a type of six-axle, 3,000hp, 16-cylinder diesel locomotive built from 1976 to 1986 with 1,078 built (including 50 C30-7A units). 783 were sold to American railroads, while the remainder were exported or assembled in Mexico.
