We articulate a framework that can support design, revision, validation, and evaluation of QRIS.
Sample Frames | QRiS
Sample frames are polygon feature classes that divide up your riverscapes into smaller units. Typically these individual polygons span valley wall to valley wall and longitudinally represent coherent geomorphic units, or uniform sections of river.
Why Develop a QRIS? The overall goal is to increase the quality of programs through system-wide improvements. A QRIS has the opportunity to do the following: Increase quality of care for children; Increase parents’ understanding of and demand for higher-quality care; and Increase professional development for child care providers.
QRIS is an early learning strategy that shares responsibility for equitable child outcomes with other early learning strategies as well as with other systems such as health and education, and with communities and families. Th rough the series, QRIS 3.0 Tools and Resources, BUILD explores several timely, critical issues related to QRIS.
Getting Started | QRiS - Riverscapes
The goal of QRiS is to help you digitize your riverscape. It does this by providing convenient geospatial layers and attributes for common riverscape features. A distinction is made between two types of features: static and dynamic .
The types of standards used by QRIS to assign ratings are based on research about the characteristics of programs that produce positive child outcomes. The following tables provide the Web sites for States’ QRIS standards compiled by the National Center on Child Care Quality Improvement (NCCCQI).
In February 2023, the Commission initiated a project to modernize North Carolina’s QRIS, commonly known as the Star Rated License, in anticipation of impending legislation. The Commission formed a QRIS Sub-Committee that was tasked with developing recommendations for QRIS Modernization.
For simplicity the QRIS Evaluation Toolkit is referred to in this document as “the Toolkit”. QRS Assessment: Evaluation Toolkit Mathematica Policy Research 2
Analyses | QRiS
A sample frame that subdivides your riverscape into the spatial units for which you want to report river health. Typically these are polygons that span valley wall to valley wall and represent the river reaches or sub-reaches.
Investments in the development or revision of state and local Quality Rating and Improvement Systems (QRIS) for early care and education have increased in recent years, due in part to the Race to the Top – Early Learning Challenge (RTT-ELC) grants that were awarded to 20 states beginning in Fiscal Year 2011.
