Nov 4, 2013 · Here is one example of foam plane with paper covered wings and fuselage. It is rather big and it has very thick airfoil. Plane is semi scale model of Fokker F VII. Wingspan is 113 inch (287cm) and lenght 76,8 inch (195cm) weight 10,36 lb (4,7 kg). This is not my plane, it is built and operated one of my fellow rc hobbyists.

The overall dimensions of the F.VII-3m are shown on the general arrangement drawings, but it should be stated that the machine is fitted with two types of wing, one the same as the F.VII (improved type) as regards area, but having, of course, local strengthening where the wing iengines are attached, and the other a larger wing (by some 86 sq. ft.)

Sep 10, 2018 · Surprised me a bit as well, but that Fokker, like its Original, has an extremely high-lift foil. I'm generally inclined to think that fourstroke glow-to-gas conversions are most suited for slower flying models, although of course that is more a matter of selecting the proper propsize.
