Nov 8, 2016 · When I login to either account the icon shows on welcome, login. lock, switch user and any other screen where users appear. Dont know much about png etc so never touched those files. I have found many things changed in Win10 from Win7. All I can say is my user icons are the way I want them and I changed them using the method I suggested.

Mar 13, 2021 · I found it necessary to include this change to the user.png file in order to remove the icon with both 1809 & 2004 versions. As an experiment, I renamed all of the .bmp & .png files in the above folder by adding a .bak extension. Logging off user or enabling the lock screen (win key + L) showed the lock screen with the white user icon.
