Axe Fx II XL fan replacement | Fractal Audio Systems Forum
May 11, 2021 · Hey everyone! I find that the fan on my Axe Fx 2 XL is very loud, and I've been looking to upgrade to a newer and more quiet fan. I've been mailing Ole at support and he said it is important that the new fan does not have an airflow of less than 26.3cfm or the DSPs will be destroyed. I've looked at a fan from Noctua, the NF-R8 Redux 1800rpm fan.
Fan noise AxeFx 3 Turbo? | Fractal Audio Systems Forum
Aug 7, 2022 · I have an AXE-FXIII turbo. The fan noise bothered me so i replaced it with the noctua NF-A8 ULN. It is definitely quieter than the original fan. But part of the issue is the top panel amplifies the sound. If you leave the top panel off it's pretty quiet with either fan. Once you put the top panel back on it gets much louder.

Sep 24, 2016 · The original Axe Fx II barely needed a fan in the first place - I think it's there more for insurance than anything else because the unit doesn't get hot. The main case isn't even ventilated, so it's questionable how much value a fan has in there anyway.

XL fan noise | Fractal Audio Systems Forum
Apr 4, 2014 · The older Axe fx II's (first year or so) had a really noisy fan. Lots of topics on that one. G66 send me a quieter one for free. I think the later ones had that quieter fan by default (?). How is the effect loop of the XL? That is also really noisy and unusable for me in the Axe fx II I have. Also many topics about that.

Apr 9, 2019 · When I first fired my axe-fx iii it was extremely quiet, with just a slight soft, gentle, whispering hum coming from the unit. The fan. But I've noticed in the past month, the fan noise seems louder? The noise is there when nothing (no instrument input) is plugged into the axe. Knowing the under the hood it's there's a processor that needs cooling.
