Both the Super Duty Dana 50 (Bottom) and Dana 60 (Top) have 1.50-inch axle shafts, but on the Dana 50 the shafts are machined down to 1.30-inch at the differential. The Dana 50 is also fitted with 30-spline inners, whereas the Dana 60 gets 35 splines.

Jan 11, 2012 · Ford still today uses the Dana 60 in the front of their F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks. The axle was manufactured in 2 different versions, a king pin and a ball joint version. All 3 manufactures have used both the king pin and the ball joint axle.

Dana 60 front axles have been used in FORD F-250 and F-350 4x4 trucks since the mid 70's. In 2000 Ford F-450 and F-550 4x4 models also used the Dana 60 front axles and starting in 2005 the F-450 and F-550 had the Super 60 front axles.
