Feb 22, 2013 · You Eurail pass will cover all Regionale trains between the towns. Only Regionale trains run between the towns although there are occasional intercity trains that will stop at Monterosso and Riomaggiore on their way through. Train fares between the towns is about 1.5Euro. Hardly worth wasting a travel day.

Jul 25, 2023 · A Eurail pass only beats point to point if you're going really long distances - longer than most travelers plan to go in a day. If you're choosing rail, the earlier you book the cheaper the fare. You have to look at both options and decide what works best for you.

Jun 14, 2018 · A "Eurail Pass" is not an SNCF ticket. I am unsure whether you can get these reservations (which only people with passes need) at a French station. The only sure way is to get the reservation from whoever you bought your pass from, and as soon as possible.

Nov 12, 2009 · The only accurate way to evaluate a rail pass is to compare it with prices from the national rail companies. Netherlands is www.ns.nl; Belgium is www.b-rail.be. To go to and from Paris, you probably want to use Thalys. Eurail passes only partially cover travel on Thalys; there is a big surcharge to use Thalys with a rail pass.

Nov 1, 2021 · The Glacier Express and the Brig–Zermatt route are now fully covered by the Eurail Global Pass (but the Glacier Express still requires a paid seat reservation). The Eurail Global Pass now grants a 50 percent discount on most lake boats, rather than covering the full fare (but boats on Lakes Thun and Brienz are fully covered by the Global Pass).

Oct 11, 2022 · The pass days of travel will cost more than the actual tickets. The walk up prices on all the faster trains (IC - Intercities, ICN - Intercities Notte, and the various flavours of Trenitalia Freccia high speed trains) are indeed higher, but nobody pays those prices.
