The Indian coral tree is a common tree in the island of Sri Lanka. It is locally known as erabadu. The tree has the scientific name of Erythrina variegate.

E. fusca (erabadu) is the official flower of the Venezuelan state of Trujillo. The tree is highly adapted to coastal conditions, tolerant of both flooding and salinity. Height : 27 m tall. Leaves : Leafless or leaves at flowering the rachis about 4 cm long, stipels are deciduous; and globose.
