Isabel is Co-Director of the EPPIcenter. She is an Associate Professor in the Division of HIV, ID and Global Medicine, interested in applying novel epidemiological and statistical methods to understand the dynamics of infectious diseases. Most of her experience is related to vector-borne diseases such as dengue, malaria, and Zika. Isabel completed her medical training in …

Understanding complex interactions between pathogens, hosts, and environment requires coordinated investigation across venues. We link pipettes to populations by integrating data collection in the field where diseases are endemic and in the laboratory, taking advantage of molecular technologies. Synthesis of these data via computational analysis produces insight into transmission dynamics and ...

Henrik Salje established the Pathogen Dynamics Group at Cambridge, where he is a Professor fo Genetics. His research combines the development of analytical approaches with empirical research to better understand the transmission dynamics of different infectious diseases with the ultimate goal of helping guide control efforts.

Sofonias Tessema Awarded African Career Accelerator Award …
We are proud to announce that Sofonias Tessema, PhD has been awarded the African Career Accelerator Award Fellowship--designed to help postdoctoral research scientists become research group leaders on the African continent.. As one of seven new fellows awarded by the Crick African Network, Sofonias hopes to develop and apply next-generation sequencing based malaria surveillance method that ...
EPPIcenter Seminar: Jessica Metcalf- Open configuration options ...
Jessica Metcalf is a demographer with broad interests in evolutionary ecology, infectious disease dynamics and public policy. She works on questions ranging from how changing human demography might change infectious disease incidence and spread; to what drives dynamics of rubella and other childhood infections through space and time; and how these various patterns intersect with vaccine ...
