I dumped about a half gallon of vinegar in the dishwasher and ran the cycle, then I repeated it a second time and most of the white stuff disappeared. Now whenever I use the dishwasher at work, I toss some vinegar in during the final rinse, which seems to help.

Jun 23, 2006 · OP - I'm in the same boat!!! Roomie always wants to leave the heat up high while were gone, but I can't justify heating an empty house for a minimum of ELEVEN hours every day. She thinks, too, that it will cost less. (How does MORE heat cost LESS? ) I used to keep it at 60 when we were gone, but now I turn it down to 55.

They also have a great crawfish chowder, and are open late if your flight is delayed. No reservations needed. not empty, but pretty quiet whenever we've dined there. Even more upscale is Hemisphere.
