COTC is an autonomous local assembly led by Jesus Christ, who directs as the head of this body through a team of appointed elders. (Hebrews 10:24-25; Acts 2:41- 47; 1 Corinthians 12-14; Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 2:19-22; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17)

The Elders of the Creek, often just the Elders, are a group of teenage boys that hung out in the Creek. They were some of the oldest residents of the Creek and claimed to have been there longer than anyone. They give "great, ancient wisdom," as Craig puts it, in return for tribute.

The tasks and responsibilities of the Elders vary greatly and require discernment as the board strives to keep the church on its biblical course. The Elder board tackles key issues facing the church. These include: Determining the overall vision and future direction of the church.

Elder Mark is the leader of the Elders of the Creek, composed of Barry, David, and himself. He and the others hang out in Elder Rock, a grotto off to the side of The Creek. Inside, they play tabletop games and are available to provide information to those with tribute.

Elder David is a young adult who was one of the Elders of the Creek. Following their split, he left the Creek and stopped hanging out with Elder Mark. He became a goth and began working at the Smoothie Groovy, where he befriended Tabitha and Courtney.

May 20, 2023 · I'm hoping for a Craig of the Creek prequel spin-off series about Kenneth and the Elders. I think Mark and Barry are 19-20 while David is 17-18. Isn't Kenneth in college? He's got to be at least 18 to be living in dorms and stuff right? 16 - 17. At least 16, since Mark had a job.

Our Elders have been installed as spiritual leaders over our community, and we believe this is deeply foundational to being a biblically functioning community. The leadership we call the Elders to provide is one deeply rooted in the example of Jesus and the commands of Scripture.
