The ekdromoi were an ancient Greek light hoplites. The name means 'out-runners', and denotes their ability to exit the phalanx and fight in an irregular order, as the situation might demand.

The EKDROMOI is a manned, high-performance reverse jointed craft piloted only by the elite of the PCA's Special Forces branch, usually abbreviated to PCA SP. They usually function in groups, and use coordination and squad tactics to bring down opponents quickly and efficiently.

The 4th Century BC Ekdromoi were Light Greek Infantry (Foot) Soldiers – comparable to The Hoplite Class of Fighters. The name “Ekromoi” means “Out Runners”. This was best applied to their primary tactic of being deployed.

The Ekdromoi are such a wildly weird design that doesn't remotely resemble anything else in the game. I might have liked to see them show up even once more.

The Ekdromos was a variation of the Classical Hoplite, who was armed in a lighter fashion. The name translates to out-runner, which allows us to infer their tactical use. Ekdromoi could fight in the closed Phalanx formation, just as regular Hoplites.

Nov 28, 2022 · The light runners were called the ekdromoi. They were the out-runners, with only spear and shield. They did not have the breastplate or armor. The drawing above shows the iron men. It is hard to find a drawing of an ekdromoi and the only one I found, on a Greek vase, was a bit too graphic for this blog.
