The EMD G8 is a model of diesel–electric locomotive of which 382 were built between 1954 and 1965 for both export and domestic use. They were built by both Electro-Motive Division in the United States and by General Motors Diesel Division in Canada for use in ten countries, being equipped to operate on several different track gauges .

Built circa 1954 by EMD as a G8 export locomotive but never shipped. It is basically a predecessor of the popular GP series locomotive which was mass produced. The locomotive worked for the last 20 years moving hopper cars around an industrial facility.

As of November 2021, Lakewood Red Car has obtained ownership of this locomotive (EMD G8 208-1 )and has plans.
