Mar 19, 2010 · Going on previous patterns of technology transfer within VAG, the upgraded EA888 won't go in the Mk 6 Golf R. Audi get the latest technology first, then it gets handed down to VW. Finally, Skoda and Seat get it. I reckon the upgraded EA888 will be saved for the Mk 7 Golf R (which is only 3-4 years away).

The respective engines were mentioned & I remember vividly him saying that the EA888 engine is more advanced (lighter) & cheaper to maintain (chain driven) as compared to the EA113.

Jun 24, 2024 · I am facing the same on a 2.0tsi ea888 gen3, my2017 - sporadic lumpy idle usually when engine is hot. I have multiple misfires on all cylinders when it happens. Sonfar i replaced: cam magnets + oil control valves which are pished by the magnets, camshaft bridge, spark plugs, coils, pcv, HPFP.

Feb 5, 2023 · You can spend a shed load more for 500++ but then you get into engine builds and fragility of the EA888 on any hard use eg track. I’d rather go 450-460 for a lot less £££. Ian, It does sound good option I agree 450hp and 600nm a nice bump with staying within engine limits too for keeping longevity.
