Aug 24, 2017 · Try the engine swap forum. I have read of the 1 and 2 jz to E36 swaps over the years there. You can also turbo an m50, m52, s50 or s52. With just a thicker head gasket, they are good for 500-600 rwhp. Much more with rods and pistons. My e36 has been turbo since 2010.

Dec 9, 2011 · taking everything off the 1jz was really easy. it really an uncomplicated motor with an overly complicated wiring harness. Sent the block out to get checked, re-honed and hot tanked (honed and checked before and after tanking) at Specialites Mustang Machining for 200.

The JZ actually fits quite nicely into the E36 chassis, we've also given the brackets a slot at the base to allow for some adjustement front to rear. The mount brackets will fit with stock height rubber mounts as well as our Urethane motor mounts for the E36 chassis.
