You're better off selling the bike and buying a new one that comes equipped with flat bars. Having drop bars and riding on the tops of the bars is going to put you in a very similar position as if you had flat bars.

It has more to do with bar height compared to saddle height (negative, neutral, or positive), and reach (distance from saddle to grips). Comfortable bikes tend to have neutral or positive bar height, and long reach so you can stretch out and breathe.
