Doug Piercy is an American heavy metal guitarist. He played in the San Francisco heavy metal band Anvil Chorus in the early 1980s. [1] . Playing in Control briefly, he eventually moved on to his best-known project, Heathen, in 1985.

Shortly after their first gig in 1985, Kress and Sanguinetti left the group and were replaced by vocalist David White (formerly of Blind Illusion) and guitarist Doug Piercy (formerly of Anvil Chorus and Control). The band also recruited bassist Eric Wong around this time.

These sessions were the catalyst for Biedermann to forge ahead in the classic Blind Illusion style. Biedermann eventually teamed up with former Heathen guitarist Doug Piercy and bassist Tom Gears to record the four track EP "2018". The band has played several European shows since.
