You will not find a 0W-20 Dexos 2 fluid due to the high HTHS requirement. Jun 11, 2012 · As in is that how dexos is compared to gf-4 and 5. If so it's an improvement on every level,and would only make sense to use it vs even a gf-5 lube. Or is each brands gf-5 a bit different in the scale. For example PU gf-5 isn't dexos is it,whereas pp is. Does this mean pp with the dexos label is better than gf-5 ultra,or how does this work exactly?

Jun 15, 2010 · Dexos is a GM specific....erm, yeah, well.... specification. More than likely the oil spec will be in relatively sharp focus with GM vehicles, predominantly. It may be very well LASER sharp on a recently recalibrated vehicle or soon-to-be-released Generic Motormunchers creations.

Oct 8, 2017 · Dexos 2 is a more stout oil than Dexos 1 Gen 2. They came out with Dexos 1 Gen 2 oil to combat a problem GM was having with their small turbo direct injected engines, LSPI, (Low Speed Pre ignition)which could cause catastrophic engine damage with LSPI.
