Jul 26, 2023 · Worked great. I painted the window areas dark when closed so they resemble the color deer see when they're open. Just in case a regular deer noticed a black rectangle where one wasn't last visit. I built a wood floor (framed) for it , and in high wind gusts it creaked and wiggled a little both top and bottom. Deer didn't pay any attention to it.

Nov 10, 2005 · Most of my ground blinds are open air types made from piled up logs with a half sheet of plywood as a roof and shooting/viewing slots 360 degrees around. A heater in a blind will serve to warm you up some, but it also helps to keep your scent away from deer.

Jan 20, 2024 · Hey fellow sportsman. Looking for some first hand reviews of the Amish style rough cut pine deer blinds. I have build 2 box blinds before. Just don’t have the time this go around for the pre build. I have checked out Blackdog web site, looking for something similar. I like the idea of having the prebuilt sections to assemble in the field.

They look to be very well designed as is their blinds thought about buying a blind after seeing them at Gander Mountain near Lansing but now unemployed...

Jul 9, 2024 · Looking for suggestions to anchor my new deer blind down. I tried earth anchors and they pulled out of the sand with minimal effort. I drove them in the ground about 40" and they were basically useless. I'm thinking of driving posts into the ground next to the legs at an angle different from the legs and bolting or tying them with wire to the legs.

Aug 27, 2016 · We had to actually stand up and bend over to shoot down. At 36" the window sill provides a great rest for your rifle. This blind (as well as most all of our blinds) is set up for about a 100 yard shot to where we expect to see deer. With a comfortable rest on the window sill we have experienced one-shot DRT kills 99% of the time.

I remember my father taking me into the woods long before I was old enough to hunt to help him construct blinds made out of natural resources we found laying around. A major benefit I like about building natural blinds is that the materials are free.
