Jun 2, 2013 · Were members taking dapsone checked for G6pD and CBC before starting a dapsone regime and was the dosage increase a little each week after recheck lab work. My dermatologist is planning on initial dosage 25 mg 4 times daily for a week and increase 25mg each week until max of 100mg qid after weekly labs are run.

While Dapsone is the drug of choice & by all accounts results are rapid; there are alternate drugs which do not have quite the danger or side effects as dapsone. What happened to the person who posted this is HIGHLY unusual and in part was caused by the fact that the doctor ignored some warning signs.

Aug 26, 2011 · Dapsone can have side effects but if you look the really serious ones are rare and pretty much reverse when you stop taking it or cut back. I have never heard of doing blood tests every two weeks or even once a month, EXCEPT right at the beginning to get the dose regulated.

Mar 5, 2009 · I've heard about people on long-term dapsone; in some cases it was because years back doctors didn't equate DH with celiac, so they told patients that they could eat gluten because the dapsone cured the skin problems.
