Jan 11, 2012 · Dodge stopped using the Dana 60 in their 3rd generation Ram's. Ford still today uses the Dana 60 in the front of their F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks. The axle was manufactured in 2 different versions, a king pin and a ball joint version. All 3 manufactures have used both the king pin and the ball joint axle. Dana 60 Specs:

Oct 12, 2006 · the only benefit i can think of about king pin vs. ball joint is price, a newer style ball joint dana 60 is easier and cheaper to get than an old style king pin diff. also my brother is putting a dana 60 king pin style diff in a bronco and didnt get a crucial u-bolt retainer piece and is having trouble finding one.

May 22, 2013 · For 60's I would have at least 35's.. also a rear 60 found in most full size trucks is only 30 spline.. so not much better than a dana 44.. I would look at a ford 10.25 which has 35 splines get the 2nd generation production with the bigger pinion.

Feb 5, 2002 · easy enough but, does it matter what manufacturer truck the 60 came from? for example, will the single wheel hub assemblies off a ford d60 fit on a dually d60 from a chevy truck. i assume so but want to be sure. since they are both danas and both 8x6.5 bolt pattern i see no problem but y'all know better then i. what about brakes? is just the hub/rotor assembly swapped or do you need to swap ...

Feb 15, 2005 · Early B-body's are slightly under 60" wide, late B's, and E's are slightly over 60" wide. 1969, and earlier versions have 23spline 1.5" shafts 1970, and later versions got 35 spline 1.5" shafts. Mine came out of a 1969 Hemi Charger, with 4.56's already swapped in (was under $500, before the prices went up).
