
Has anyone broken their Superior Super 35 kit? - Pirate 4x4
Feb 23, 2012 · I have been running a super 35 kit w/ an ARB in my TJ for about six years now on 33" toyos. You just have to realize it is still a glorified dana 35 and it is not "If it will break..Its when it will break". I have had good luck with it because I baby it quit a bit.
44 parts on a dana 35 axle - Pirate 4x4
Oct 19, 2003 · Now the 35 and 44 use the same u joint, and the same wheel bearings from what I have gathered. sooooo.. I would assume, I could use the outer shaft from the 88' 44 with a 35 inner shaft. I should also be able to use the rotor and hub from the 88' 44 on a 35 spindle.
Swapping between Dana 35 and 8.25 - Pirate 4x4
Apr 1, 2014 · Long story, but what are the major differences to consider when swapping between the Dana 35 and the Chrysler 8.25, or visa versa? I've gotta yank my 8.25 in favor of the D35 for a short term fix. U-Joints the same? Drive shaft same length? Axle tubes same diameter? Shock mounts the same? Any chance the brake parts are the same?
Dana 35 pinion torque help - Pirate 4x4
Jun 6, 2014 · I'm replacing by Dana 35 pinion yoke with a omix-ada U-bolt yoke. (Kit came with crush sleeve, seal, and new nut) Measured pinion preload at 2 NM before. (Drums off, shafts in). Replaced the crush sleeve. Now I'm trying to achieve slightly higher than that initial torque.

Aug 7, 2006 · The Dana 35 TTB under the later model Ranger pickups and all the first generation Explorers is a direct bolt in, and much stouter than the Dana 28 in the earlier Ranger/BII trucks. The 35 uses the same carrier as the rear axle of many Jeeps, so lockers are easy to locate.
Axle saver bearing - Pirate 4x4
Aug 30, 2006 · After putting in an axle saver bearing in a 98 TJ Dana 35 the damn bearings will not slip over the last section where the bearing rides. Its not in crooked the axle is not boogered in that area and I dont see how it could have compressed by possibly going in too far. Its out about 1/8th of an inch which is where its supposed to be. Any suggestions?
Difference between Dana 35C and Dana 44??? - Pirate 4x4
Sep 14, 2003 · The dana 35 diff is more rounded while the 44 is more angular. The dana 35's drain plug is plastic and the dana 44s is a bolt. Quite a few pics of dana 44s here.
WJ/ZJ Axles - Pirate 4x4
Aug 7, 2003 · Low pinion Dana 30 front. Rear axle will be Dana 44A rear for V8 model and Dana 35 for I6 model. The 30 is OK for mild wheeling with tires up to 33". Alloy shafts are recommended. The 44A is an aluminum housing differential that shares nothing in common with the iron housing Dana 44.
Dana 28/ 35 Hybrid - Pirate 4x4
Oct 31, 2003 · Ford's parts computer lists the wrong part number for the front 4.10 gears. I know this because I bought new 4.10s for my Explorer from a Ford dealer and when they arrived they were Dana 28 gears, the listing for the 4.0L Ranger was the correct Dana 35 gears.

Nov 5, 2003 · A Dana 35 is "OKAY" but a 44 is better. Terry 1988 YJ running a 2002 OBDII 4.0L-NV3550 trans. Tom Wood shafts 10in SOA lift-reverse shackles & 35/12.50 BFG mudders w/OX Lockers and 4:10s on both Dana 30-44 axles
