Daigo (大子町, Daigo-machi) is a town located in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. As of 1 July 2020 [update] , the town had an estimated population of 15,771 in 6431 households and a population density of 48.4 inhabitants per square kilometre (125/sq mi).

Hidden away in the remote hills of the town of Daigo in northwestern Ibaraki Prefecture is Fukuroda Falls (袋田の滝, Fukuroda-no-taki), a 120-meter-tall cascading waterfall, regarded as one of the three most beautiful in Japan alongside Nachi Falls in Wakayama Prefecture and Kegon Falls in Tochigi Prefecture.

Daigo is a small town north of Ibaraki prefecture and about 3 hours north of Tokyo. I had visited before, but was looking forward to spend some time in nature and visit one of Japan’s famous waterfalls (Fukuroda falls) and their hotspring, as well as find out more about Daigo from locals.
