If on the otherhand you are receiving DTS:X encoded audio while Dolby Surround is engaged then you'd not get DTS:X and you'd only get DTS-HD Master Audio with Dolby Surround upmixing.

Oct 9, 2016 · In order for the metadata associated with these formats to be sent you must bitstream the DTS-HD Master Audio or Dolby TrueHD container to the receiver for it to decode. The XBox One S cannot bitstream either DTS-HD Master Audio or Dolby TrueHD so you cannot access either DTS:X or Dolby Atmos audio if using the XBox as a player.

If your amplifier can take 5.1/7.1 PCM then you are getting the full soundtrack from a Blu-ray, the Blu-ray player is un-compressing the DD/DTS.

Alot of sources output 4 channel PCM as FlFrSblSbr which has poor support but quad or 4.0 support in DTS HD is universal. Dolby offer correct mappings for old Dolby 70mm sound ( Fl,Fr,C,Mono Surround) which is unsupported by multichannel PCM too.

I cannot see DTS-HD HR being used much. DTS have got things right this time, that's for sure.
