May 9, 2007 · Well the builder of the house actually came out and threw Drylok on the walls and We dont think he did any acid wash. the wall is 7.5 ft high and about 85 ft long Many places the drylok is "bubbling" and "growing", what I guess the effloresence "hairy, fuzzy" stuff. The builder is out of the equation now after doing "tough-up work"

Apr 5, 2008 · Unsure of the cost of drylok, but I woould use a crystalline waterproofer, similar to Xypex (or equal). Mix it and apply it and your done and the best part it actually works. Contact a local masonry supplier for a similar product by another manufacturer. Keyword is "crystalline" waterproofing agent.

Mar 8, 2007 · It is a thin membrane (maybe 3 mil thick), one side is adhered to the floor obviously, and the side facing up has a rough layer similar to a rough concrete surface which mortar can adhere to easily. Honestly it would be alot cheaper to buy muriatic acid and etch your floor rather than to use a seperate substrate to cover the concrete.

Jul 29, 2006 · I still say hes looking for drylok but, ya a good xylene stain/paint would most likely work well... there was this company that ran through Duron, I keep wanting to say Rhino... had a darn good xylene based concrete paint. Just don't expect to re-use anything in xylene, less expensive to just buy throw aways.
