Jan 8, 2014 · The DRP is for Deutsches Reichspatent. These were so to speak "proper" patents, and were first introduced in 1877. Before then, various of the states (kingdoms, etc.) issued patents. DRGM is for Deutsches Reichs-Gebrauchsmuster. These so-called in patspeak "utility-model" patents were first introduced in 1891.
German clock movement DRP - NAWCC Forums
Oct 12, 2005 · How can I track down the meaning of a clock movement marking "DRP 367338" on a German mantle clock? This is a Westminster chime movement. I know DRP is a pre-WWII German patent numbering system so clock must predate 1945. ***NEVER MIND*** I found it at the German patent office website.

Identify maker of this clock | NAWCC Forums
Jan 10, 2021 · The DRP numbers (German patents) can be of assistance in determining a "no earlier" than date. The first DRP - 55006 - is the Kielmann patent and is used quite a bit by Mauthe. It was granted to Kielmann in 1890, but your movement is not that old. The other DRP - 6xxxx - is difficult to read.
Kienzle clock identification - NAWCC Forums
Feb 13, 2021 · The DRP (patent) is a much better indicator of a "not earlier than" date then even a trademark. The OP's patent date indicates that 1901 is the earliest the clock could have been made. Finally, trademark usage can overlap, so whereas your statement is logical, this is not always correct. Regards.
