One of 60 cabooses built from scrapped 2100 and 2200 steam locomotive tender frames. Retained its number after the Erie-Lackawanna merger. Became Conrail No. 19905 after 1976.

DL&W wanted its new locomotives to have a distinction of their own and decided to call them "Poconos", for the mountains that the railroad crossed. Designed with passenger service in mind, these locomotives had 73" drivers and a tractive effort of 64,500 pounds.
