Apr 26, 2018 · A shortcut key of a "redo" action is now Ctrl+Y in all Microsoft Office products.However, a lot of other programs like Matlab, Adobe Illustrator, and even old versions of Microsoft Office had "redo" action shortcut key as Ctrl+Shift+Z.

Ctrl+Z (undo) doesn't work in any application. I.E., doesn't work in ms paint, notepad, etc. I don't think it's a hardware issue because ctrl+c etc work, just ctrl+z doesn't work. Also, I was able to manually use Ctrl+Z as shortcuts in other applications. I tried making Ctrl+Z the shortcut for GeForce Experience Overlay and it worked fine.

The undo and redo buttons are grayed out. This happens no matter which file I have open. If I manually press the undo arrow instead of ctrl+z it works as intended.

Jun 22, 2014 · if you edit a file it won't. But you can undo the changes, if paint is still open using ctrl + z or the undo button then save it again to restore the file. But in that case ctrl z will only undo the changes I paint. If you use ctrl z outside of paint it will undo changes made in that program. CTRL + shift + z will redo those changes in most cases.

Sep 20, 2016 · I just upgraded to Office 2016 and noticed that Ctrl-z doesn't undo as expected. Nothing happens at all and I don't have any macros assigned to that shortcut. The undo button in the ribbon works fine, and all of the other Ctrl functions appear to work fine. Additionally, the Ctrl-z works to undo in Word and Powerpoint.

Jan 22, 2023 · Cancelling "Ctrl+Z" simply moves the old files back into "old", leaving my "current" folder empty. In the end, all my work has been completely lost, as it was replaced by the previous iteration instead of being deleted. (as such it is not present in the recycling bin) This is to put it bluntly an asinine implementation of these commands.
