Feb 6, 2015 · on windows, Cygwin, vim : when you vimdiff -o bigfile1.bash bigfile2.bash: ctrl-w =: opens a MiniBufExplorer 3rd window on top (and the 3 windows are now equal in size), and closing that one makes the first .bash file's window 2 timse bigger than the 2nd .bash file window. Same operation with 2 .vim files gives same results.

Feb 4, 2020 · CTRL + W is the keyboard shortcut to close the active tab. This works fine if the tab isn't pinned, but if I press CTRL + W on a pinned tab, it just cycles to the next tab. This isn't ideal. The shortcut should close the tab regardless of whether it is pinned (as it does in other browsers).

It seems that, since a few weeks, Firefox no longer closes a window when pressing ctrl-w even if there is only one tab in the window.

You're probably pressing Ctrl-W, Ctrl-+ and the terminal will catch Ctrl-+ and interpret that as a command to change the font size. Just make sure you're releasing the Ctrl key before you execute the second keystroke of the command: Ctrl-W, then release Ctrl, then press + or -.

Aug 29, 2014 · Ctrl-W's functionality has changed. Ctrl-W will not close the last tab/window. Ctrl-Shift-W must be used. Keyconfig will allow defining both {Close tab} and {Close window} as Ctrl-W but {close window} doesn't work. I know that the mouse can be used to perform these operations but I prefer keyboard control.
