CRI-O is an implementation of the Kubernetes CRI (Container Runtime Interface) to enable using OCI (Open Container Initiative) compatible runtimes. It is a lightweight alternative to using Docker as the runtime for kubernetes.

All future CRI-O packages will be shipped as part of the officially supported Kubernetes infrastructure hosted on pkgs.k8s.io! In the same way as the Kubernetes community, CRI-O provides deb and rpm packages as part of a dedicated subproject in OBS, called isv:kubernetes:addons:cri-o .
