Dec 5, 2014 · For a block of code each individual new line needs a # symbol placed at the start of the line to comment it out fully as a block. See the attached screenshot, I have gedit set to use text wrapping so I also turn on line numbering for easier visual indication of the line starting point for any commenting out of lines of code/text etc.

Jul 5, 2009 · Alternatively you could have the menu always come up at boot time. To do this, comment out 'hiddenmenu' by inserting a # at the beginning of the line. Worth a try. I mean the hiddenmenu option. You can edit the menu.lst with this command: gksudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst But make a backup of the menu.lst first.
