Chon (sometimes stylized as CHON) was an American progressive rock band from Oceanside, California. Their music is largely instrumental with only a few songs containing vocal performances. The final line up of the band consisted of Mario Camarena (guitar), Erick Hansel (guitar), Esiah Camarena (bass) and Nathan Camarena (drums).

Mar 31, 2024 · Chon, a band known for their instrumental progressive rock and math rock style, announced an indefinite hiatus in 2020. They have not released new music or performed together since then. Chon, formed in 2008 in San Diego, California, quickly gained a following for their complex guitar work, intricate rhythms, and overall technical proficiency.

If anything, CHON is brimming with some of the most forward-thinking, intricate musings the band have ever attempted, from the deep progressive propulsion of first single “Peace” to “Spike,” which spins the band’s youthful tech and metal influences together into a flashy riff-athon.
