The Chaxa Lagoon is part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve, placed in the middle of the Salar de Atacama. Located at 2300 meters, it's a spectacularly beautiful setting where you can appreciate a lagoon divided into several lakes, where salt crusts are especially abundant and diverse communities of flamingos inhabit.

This 2300m high lagoon is beautifully situated in the middle of the Atacama Salt flats and encompasses several small lakes. 3 species of flamingo – Chilean, Andean and James thrive here on the abundant brine shrimp in the salty waters which adds to their pinkish hue.
