CFSSAR officially started business 1 September 1996. Its mission is to teach all Search and Rescue Technician training and all CF Sea Survival Training. The sea survival course is designed to teach all CF aircrew how to survive in the event thtat they have to carry out an emergency of forced landing into a body of water.
