1 A Psalm of David. The Lord directs me, and nothing will be lacking to me. 2 He has settled me here, in a place of pasture. He has led me out to the water of refreshment. 3 He has converted my soul. He has led me away on the paths of justice, for the sake of his name.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4). The heavenly shepherd does not always keep His sheep from sorrow, but He is with them in sorrow.

The Lord is my keeper, I will not yowl. He leads me beside interesting windows. He restores my fur. He teaches me not to jump up on the table or chew the plants for His Name's sake. I will fear no needle, for You are with me. Your can-opener and Your litter scoop, they comfort me. You prepare cat food for me in the presence of the dog.
