Sep 25, 2022 · From the entrance to the intersection of the nave and transept, the timber vaulted ceiling is covered in vibrant paintings depicting biblical stories. A 1930 painting by Canuto Avila shows Adam and Eve being tempted. There is very little bare area on the ceiling because even the cornice and the beams are painted.
