I took my CTS exam for the first time at the beginning of April. Prior to that, I've been working as a CAD specialist at a NV5 for 2 years this month.

May 28, 2019 · I got a 456/500 (350 passes) on CTS after taking the 3 day class and studying for like 2 months, then rushed taking CTS-D, took no prep class, barely studied and got a 409/500. The formula sheet is everything.

Apr 16, 2021 · Make sure you are up to date on DISCAS, review any question involving math, you have to get those right because they are not open to interpretation, reinforce the material of the ones you missed in the sample test. I was once on a crew where management required that we all get our CTS, with a bonus and raise attached. We all studied the same material as OP. May 7, 2019 · Agreed. I got my cts in 2003 and let it lapse in 2016 for reasons. I don't plan on taking it again. This should not be a test about the business. The test should specialize in the technology side of AV. Hell, it's in the name. Years ago it switched from a more technical training to a more generalized training. Totally went down hill.

Dec 15, 2022 · CTS makes things complex by basing its workouts on a threshold value determined by a 2x8 min test. (i.e., you would use the the higher avg watts from the two as a basis for the entire plan). This threshold value is going to be greater than an FTP test value, so it has downstream effects for the entire plan.

Mar 11, 2020 · I took the test about 4 weeks ago. 110 multiple choice questions in whole. 100 questions that cover the test, 10 questions that are for AVIXA evaluation. This was all explained in the beginning of the test. I focused 80% on the book, and 20% on the online questions. I should have focused more on the Quzzlets. I walked out with 450/500 though.

Feb 28, 2020 · The CTS field test (to determine training zone) is two 8 minute segments. I have read online that you should multiple a 8x2 test by .9 to get your FTP, similar to the .95 multiplier for a 20x1 FTP test. I cannot find anywhere that says to do this by CTS themselves, the impression they give is to train at the full power value from the field test.
