CSX is spooling up its National Gateway Initiative clearance projects, including changes to Graham Tunnel near Magnolia, W.Va.; Harpers Ferry tunnel in Sandy Hook, Md.; and Catoctin and Point of Rocks tunnels near Point of Rocks, Md. Sounds like the tunnel changes will be either undercutting, or installation of new liners and portals.

RJ Corman crews were again busy on the CSX Gateway Project in the Kent/Ravenna area Monday and Tuesday. At 806am the last West Bound passed on track 1 and then it was taken out of service between CP 120 (Kent) and CP FS (Charlestown). CSX crews were quick to cut the rails and RJ Corman jumped in and removed the long track panels.

Dec 7, 2015 · Nope-Nothing on either the CSX internal gateway or external website annoucning this. I know it seems shocking to the outside, but (and I"m completely serious) they *really* don't think of employees as anything more than an expense. I'm not at all surprised that the info was out on the "railroad buff" sites first.
