Sep 24, 2020 · If you go to the S&S Diesel website though, they have CP3 that are rated for higher pressure. It seems like a no brainer to go with the CP3's reliability. Nov 28, 2014 · CP4.2 is a 2 piston dual cam fuel injection pump versus the CP3 is a 3 piston single cam injection pump. Basically the CP4 runs at a lot higher RPM's with it being a dual cam versus single cam therefore more heat and a lower contamination tolerance. James

Oct 4, 2022 · Had my CP4 injector pump replaced with the old CP3 design on my 2019 Ram Cummins. Never saw a designation of CP3.3 but it just may be that. Couple things of interest. One is there was a programming change to the PCM, not the ECM. I do not know the nature of the change and neither did the service advisor.

Oct 12, 2022 · He’s just a. Nice guy and since I had bought the tunes already he went ahead and threw in my CP3 tune packs. But total doing it myself it was right at $2000, went with a fleece 650. I think a local shop was wanting around $4600 total, including pump pricing and labor. My cp4 sits on the shelf. Short story, I’d just get the cp3 conversion done.

Mar 27, 2016 · Even a stock cp3 will support more than 650 if it's healthy. Cp4 is a higher pressure lower volume pump than the cp3 and like stated isnt going to fuel more than 520 or so depending on the health of it. Mine held 29k on the max effort tune without a lift pump:cookoo[1]: some won't hold that on a 120 tune.

Dec 28, 2020 · All 2021 trucks should be using the CP3. The only question remaining on the 2021 pump is if there's any internal differences to the CP3 from the CP3 used on the CM2350b. When looking at the truck, pop the hood and see for yourself. Do a quick search for the differences in the looks of the CP3 vs CP4 if you're unsure.
Has anyone confirmed the 2021's use an actual or updated CP3?
Feb 17, 2021 · The new pumps do look like the older CP3's, and as long as they share the same basic design as the old pumps, that's all that matters. I don't care if the actual model number is CP3.5 or CP5, I just want to be sure that a pump failure can not result in the contamination of the entire fuel system like the CP4 allows.
