Aug 22, 2013 · CHP equipment is pretty much all CHP specific. All the 2011 Crown Vics and new enforcement vehicles will have the computer system. The sliding trays began on the second batch of 09 Crown Vics that Motor Transport equipped. Those computer/radio systems cost a crap ton, but if CHP continued using the older S810 there would be fines of some sort.

Nov 23, 2010 · CHP firmly believes that any extra lights on the roadway are magnets for drunks and accidents. The only exception I've seen is when they are actively blocking traffic, or when fire is onscene, or when there is an unusual or extreme hazard in/on the roadway.

Feb 23, 2024 · Here's the CHP motor shop diagram for 1984 vehicles, using the Federal Signal CC1 control head. This setup gives a choice of amber+blue flashing or red+blue flashing. The blue light will be either simultaneous or alternating with the other color, depending on the flasher used (both options are shown in the diagram).

Oct 19, 2010 · In the 80s-90s, the CHP used a large number of slicktop cars. In the rear window of these cars were a single red, blue, and amber light. There were 2 lights on the left, and one on the right of the decklid underneath the rear window. I cannot fo the life of me remember which color lamp went on which side, and how they flashed.

May 21, 2011 · CHP told them, so apparently the new Charger is built, in part for CHP for their specifications. They still use, and order Expeditions and Durangos for Mountain and Desert areas that need 4x4. And they would put a HLF on the cars in a heartbeat if they could, so maybe they will be able to go back to them now.
